Alexander Valley Retreat

A shared vision with the client was hatched for an elegant, yet straightforward home design based on respect for the land, reinforcing the natural spaces rather than competing. A study of ranch houses and lodges revealed elements for success – long covered porches, a sheltered yet open courtyard, natural stone, stained cedar and decks that embraced shade from the majestic oaks with landscape and structures to maintain the natural surroundings as the main focus of the project.
